Yellow Rock has one event and a handful of clubs and outdoor spots listed, ranging from soccer and rugby league to a skate park and a mountain bike track. That is a small list, so we'll be straight about what we have. The Summer school holidays run from 18 Dec 2026 to 27 Jan 2027 (starting in 6 weeks). Those are NSW public-school dates, and Catholic and independent schools can differ.
The one event listed
Community Fishing in Penrith is the only event on Roolu near Yellow Rock right now. Open the listing below for the details, and check with the organiser about who it suits, what to bring and whether you need to book. We haven't been given those details, so we won't pretend to know them.
Clubs and places to get moving
The listings sit mostly in Winmalee, Blaxland and Castlereagh. Here is what is there:
- Football and rugby league: Springwood Soccer & Sports Club and Springwood United Football Club in Winmalee, and Lower Mountains Eagles JRLC in Blaxland.
- Wheels and trails: Winmalee Skate Park in Winmalee and Yellomundee Mountain Bike Track in Castlereagh.
- Water: Spider Pools in Castlereagh.
- Animals: Sun Valley Pony Club in Blaxland and Winmalee Apiary in Winmalee.
We know the names and the suburbs, and that is all. Ask each place about ages, costs, opening times and whether anything runs during the break. For the pools and the tracks, check the signs or the operator on the day.
Getting everyone out the door
- Choose one thing for the morning and leave the afternoon open. Kids tend to do better with room to breathe.
- Check the drive. Winmalee, Blaxland, Castlereagh and Penrith are not next door to each other.
- Pack water, sunscreen and snacks, because most of these are outdoors.
- If you plan to use a skate park or a bike track, bring the right gear and check the minimum ages with the operator.
- Have a rainy-day plan ready, such as a trip to your local library.
We're still adding holiday programs near Yellow Rock, so check back closer to the break. The organisers' own pages always have the latest details.
