Short answer for Willmot: two markets, art programs, Little Drummers for the younger ones and a run of martial arts clubs not far away. The Summer school holidays run from 18 Dec 2026 to 27 Jan 2027 (starting in 6 weeks). Those are NSW public-school dates, and Catholic and independent schools can differ, so check your own school's calendar.
Markets for a wander
Two events are listed: the Jordan Springs Monthly Market in Jordan Springs and the Elara Village Night Market in Marsden Park. Both are markets, so they're easy to drop into with kids. Check the organiser for dates and finish times, especially for the night market, because little ones can run out of steam early.
Classes, sorted by age
- Llandilo: Art Programs for ages 6 to 13 and Art Programs for ages 4.5 to 8.
- Jordan Springs: Little Drummers for ages 3 to 5.
- Mount Druitt: Little Tigers, and Kids Karate, Self Defense and Jiu Jitsu Classes.
The art programs come in two age bands, which is handy when your kids are at different stages. The Mount Druitt classes don't have ages in our facts, so ask the organiser.
Clubs and schools close by
Most of the clubs listed are in Oxley Park: Western Warriors Martial Arts, Penrith Jitsu Club, Nihon Bugeikan Martial Arts, Ropes Crossing Strikers and Total Self Defence Academy Ropes Crossing. MJ Art School is in Jordan Springs, and Mount Druitt Netball Association is in Plumpton. We don't have ages, prices or holiday timetables for these, so contact each one and ask whether they run trial sessions for new kids.
Pulling the days together
- Pair a class with a market visit in the same area. Jordan Springs has both a market and a class listed.
- Check the drive. Llandilo, Marsden Park, Jordan Springs and Oxley Park are not right next to each other.
- Book ahead if you can. Small classes tend to fill quickly.
- Keep a free backup, such as a park or a library visit, for the days when plans change.
