School holiday activities in Turrella start with something right in the suburb: Steel Park Water Park is on our list. Around it, Roolu has found events in Tempe, Ashfield, Marrickville and Campsie, classes in dance, football and martial arts, and clubs from golf to libraries. The Summer school holidays run from 18 Dec 2026 to 27 Jan 2027 (starting in 6 weeks). Those are the NSW public-school dates, and Catholic and independent schools can differ, so check your own school.
The water park
Steel Park Water Park is listed in Turrella. We don't know its opening times, opening dates or facilities, so check Canterbury-Bankstown or Bayside council information and the signs on the day before you go. It is the one listing that is actually in the suburb.
Events nearby
Four events are on Roolu now. They are Decathlon Tempe Kids Sports Party in Tempe, European Christmas Market in Ashfield, Campsie Lantern Festival in Campsie, and a Sashiko Workshop with Yoshi (mindful sewing and repair) in Marrickville. The sewing workshop may not suit younger children, so ask the organiser about ages. For all four, dates and ticket details come from the organisers.
Classes for different ages
- Little Kickers Ages 5 to 8 is in Sydenham.
- Aiki Kids Club runs in Undercliffe and Marrickville.
- READY SET DANCE, including a Level 1 class, and JAM BUDDIES are both in Marrickville.
Term-based classes may not run during the break, so ask each provider whether there is a holiday session.
Clubs and places to visit
Infinity Dance Australia is in Arncliffe, and Pinnacle Taekwondo Martial Arts is in Undercliffe. Jack Newton Junior Golf is in Wolli Creek, and Tempe Historic House is also listed under Wolli Creek. Arncliffe Library has two listings, and Debbie & Abbey Borgia Recreation Centre is in Marrickville. We don't have prices or hours for these, so contact them directly.
Planning tips
Mix a booked activity with a free outing, like the water park once you've checked it's open. Allow travel time, since most events are in neighbouring suburbs. We're still adding holiday programs near Turrella. For the latest details, use the organisers' own pages from the events and clubs below.
