Ramsgate has a handy mix to work with this break: a STEM and stories session for kids aged 5 to 10, a couple of Christmas events, a taekwondo class, and a long run of dance, music and sports clubs in the suburb itself. The Summer school holidays run from 18 Dec 2026 to 27 Jan 2027 (starting in 6 weeks). Those are the NSW public-school dates, and Catholic and independent schools can differ, so check your own school before you commit to anything.
Events around St George
Three events are on Roolu now. STEM and Stories is for ages 5 to 10 and is held in St George. A Community Christmas Concert is also listed in St George, and Magic of Christmas is in Carss Park. Details change, so go to the organisers for dates, times, tickets and what to bring. We haven't quoted prices because the information we have doesn't include them.
Learn something new
The listed class is Beginners Taekwondo in St George. If your child has been asking to try a martial art, a beginners class is a sensible starting point. Ask the provider about age ranges and whether it runs in the holidays. Kinetic Martial Arts at Ramsgate Beach is also listed if you want a second option to compare.
Clubs on your doorstep
Ramsgate is where most of the clubs are. Dance is covered by TK Dance Stars and Parallel Dance Academy, music by Themusicspace, and performing arts by MGA Academy of Performing Arts. For team sport there is Arncliffe Scots Baseball Club, Brighton Seagulls JRLFC for rugby league, and Sans Souci Football Club in Beverley Park. Sports clubs often work to a season, so ask whether a trial session is on in the break.
Making a plan
- Choose a class or club first, then fit the outings around it.
- Check the event pages for tickets and start times before you drive.
- Keep one day free for the beach or a backyard day. Not every day needs a booking.
- Contact clubs early. Spots in holiday sessions can fill, and we can't tell you what is available.
