Hunting for school holiday activities around Glendenning? Most of what Roolu has found sits in the neighbouring suburbs of Doonside, Plumpton and Mount Druitt: art and physie classes, dance and music studios, swimming, karate and a handful of local sports clubs. The Summer school holidays run from 18 Dec 2026 to 27 Jan 2027 (starting in 6 weeks). Those are the New South Wales public-school dates, and Catholic and independent schools can differ, so check your own school's calendar before you plan.

Two events to know about

There are two events on Roolu right now, both in nearby suburbs rather than Glendenning itself. One is a Bushcare meet-up at Nurragingy Reserve in Doonside. The other is Santa's Arrival Parade at Westfield Mt Druitt. Dates, times and any booking rules are set by the organisers, so check their pages before you head out, and ask whether children need to come with an adult.

Classes with ages on them

Doonside has the clearest options for kids. Art classes are listed at three levels there (beginners, intermediate and advanced), and physie is split into three age groups: 3 to 6 years, 7 to 8 years and 9 to 12 years. Class timetables often follow school terms, so ask each provider whether they run a holiday session, a catch-up block or nothing at all in the break.

Clubs and studios nearby

Plumpton is the busiest spot for clubs. The list takes in dance studios, a music academy, karate, a swim school, baseball and football. Doonside adds a soccer club. Between them they cover everything from quiet and creative to loud and sporty. Many clubs are built around a sporting season, so a call or message is the quickest way to find out whether a come-and-try session is on.

Putting the break together

  • Pick one regular thing, such as an art or physie class, so the week has an anchor.
  • Add one outing, like the Bushcare meet-up or the parade, once the organiser confirms the details.
  • Leave space for a slow day at home. Kids need those too.
  • Check travel before you book. Plumpton, Doonside and Mount Druitt are not in Glendenning, so allow time to get there.

We're still adding holiday programs for this part of Sydney, so the list will grow. For the latest times, prices and bookings, head to the organisers' own pages from the events and clubs below.
