If you're after something for the kids around The Ponds, the list covers library sessions for little ones, dance classes for ages 3 to 11 and a good spread of sports clubs. The Summer school holidays run from 18 Dec 2026 to 27 Jan 2027 (starting in 6 weeks). Those are NSW public-school dates, and Catholic and independent schools can differ, so check your own school first.
Events and library sessions
Roolu lists four events near The Ponds. Preschool Storytime and Toddler Time both run at Vinegar Hill Memorial Library in Rouse Hill, which suits the youngest members of the family. There is also a children's edition of a swap-your-style party in The Ponds and a Family Fun Day in Quakers Hill. Organisers set their own dates, so open each listing below and check it falls on a day that works for you.
Dance and movement classes
The classes listed are mostly dance:
- Rouse Hill: Jazz Hip Hop for ages 3 to 6, Ballet for ages 3 to 6 and Jazz Hip Hop for ages 7 to 11.
- Kellyville: Mini Magic, Dance&Fun Jnr and Dance&Fun Snr.
We don't have the ages for the Kellyville classes, so ask the studio. Ask too whether trial sessions or holiday classes are on offer.
Clubs close to home
Sport has plenty of options. The Ponds Parkrun and Ponds FC are both listed, and so is The Ponds Cricket Club in Kellyville Ridge. In Rouse Hill you'll find Scorpions Baseball Club, Northwest United Physie & Dance, Extravadance Studio and St Patricks Junior Rugby League Club, which also has a listing in Quakers Hill. Clubs run to their own seasons and timetables, so contact them about ages and when new players can join.
Planning around the rest of the day
- Library sessions are an easy start for toddlers and preschoolers. Check the session times with the library.
- Group trips by suburb. Rouse Hill has the most listings, so you can fit two things in without much driving.
- Ask about booking before you leave home, particularly for classes.
- Keep a couple of free backups, like a park or a library visit, for the days when plans fall through.
