Right now our wet-day list for the Northern Beaches is short, and we would rather say so than pad it. The one listing that looks like a fit for a rainy day is an exhibition in Manly. The other listings we hold for the area look outdoors or on the water, so we have left them out of this guide.
What we can point to
- The Underwater Photography Competition finalists exhibition in Manly. An exhibition is usually something you wander through, but we don't have the venue details. Ask the organiser whether it is indoors, when it is open and whether it suits younger children.
There are no indoor classes or clubs for the area on Roolu yet.
What we have left out
The area's other listed events are a litter clean-up in Belrose, a marine litter bin challenge in Manly, a rockpool walk in Palm Beach, a snorkel tour in Manly and a kids' triathlon series in Manly Vale. These look like outdoor or in-water events, so we are not suggesting them for a wet day.
How to check before you leave home
- Message the organiser and ask whether the session is indoors.
- Ask whether it still runs if it rains.
- Ask about age ranges. We haven't been given any for these listings.
- Ask about cost and whether you need to book.
Keeping a wet day easy
Plans can change at short notice when the weather turns, so check the organiser's page the day before and again on the morning. Keep a back-up at home, like a movie, a craft box or a cubby in the lounge room, so a cancelled outing doesn't sink the day.
If you are travelling between suburbs, allow extra time. Wet roads slow everything down, and the listings are spread between Belrose, Manly, Manly Vale and Palm Beach.
Still adding
We're still adding indoor classes, clubs and play spaces across the Northern Beaches. This guide will grow as we find real, checkable options. Until then, the organisers' own pages are the best place to confirm the latest details.
