Looking for play and playgroups for kids in the Sutherland Shire? Roolu lists nine play places right now, in Cronulla, Miranda, Sylvania, Sylvania Waters, Engadine and Caringbah. They are mostly game and activity venues. No playgroups are listed yet, and we are still adding them.
What is listed now
The clubs below this guide link to each organiser. Here is where they are:
- Cronulla: Timezone Cronulla.
- Miranda: Timezone Miranda and Vitaland Kids Cafe Miranda.
- Sylvania: Zone Bowling, AMF Bowling Centre and Amf Southgate.
- Sylvania Waters: Putt Planet.
- Engadine: MetavurxVR.
- Caringbah: Scarborough Fair Escape Rooms.
Sylvania has three listings, including two with AMF in the name, so check which one is closest or most suitable. Miranda is a good base if you want more than one option, as it has Timezone and a kids cafe.
Questions to ask first
Our listings give the name and the suburb, not the details. Before you go, it helps to ask:
- Which ages is it for, and do parents need to stay?
- What does a visit or session cost?
- Do I need to book, especially for a group or a party?
- Are there age or height rules, for example for VR or escape rooms?
- Is there somewhere to eat on site?
VR and escape rooms often have age limits, so check before you promise a child a turn.
Picking a kind of outing
The nine places suit different moods. A kids cafe is a place to settle with a drink while children play. Bowling and Timezone are good for a rainy afternoon or a group of friends. Putt Planet is a different outing again. The escape rooms and MetavurxVR may suit older children, but we cannot say, so ask the venue.
Playgroups
If you want a regular playgroup, none is listed yet for the Sutherland Shire. Check the council and your local community centre for sessions near you, and check back here as we add more.
Planning the trip
The venues are spread across the Shire. Check opening hours, parking and how long you will stay before you leave. A short outing is easier with young children.
Still adding more
We are still adding play places and playgroups here. Check the organisers' own pages for the latest details.
