Looking for toddler activities in the Eastern Suburbs? Roolu lists eight family events in the area right now, in Centennial Park, Randwick, Paddington, Double Bay, Woollahra and Bondi Junction. Our listings do not state ages, so we cannot promise each one suits children aged 0 to 3. This guide helps you work out which to look at first, and what to ask the organiser.

What is listed now

The events below this guide link to each organiser and have the latest details. Here they are by suburb:

  • Centennial Park: Spotlight Prowl for Families and Camping 101.
  • Randwick: The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
  • Paddington: French classes for your kids and you.
  • Double Bay: Drop-in Workshop with Artist Samuel Chan, and Samhain the Spirit of Woollahra, Family Fun day.
  • Woollahra: Jazz in Chiswick Park.
  • Bondi Junction: Wave Con: Comics and Games Day.

There are no toddler classes or clubs listed yet.

Which ones to ask about first

Some listings are written for families, and some are for older children. The French classes are described as being for kids and a parent, and the family fun day and the family prowl are written for families. The drop-in workshop, the jazz event and the camping event may suit different ages, and the comics and games day may be aimed at older children. We do not know, so ask before you go.

Questions to ask the organiser

  • Is it suitable for a child aged 0 to 3, and do they need their own ticket?
  • Is there space for a pram, and somewhere to feed or change a baby or toddler?
  • How long does it run? Short sessions are easier with toddlers.
  • Does it need booking, and does it cost anything?
  • What happens if the weather turns, for events held outdoors?

Planning a day with a toddler

  • Pick one event, not three. Toddlers do best with a simple plan.
  • Aim for a time that fits around nap and meal times.
  • Check parking or public transport before you leave. Prams and bags make the trip harder.
  • Bring snacks, water and a change of clothes.
  • Be ready to leave early. A short visit that ends well beats a long one that does not.

Still adding more

We are still adding toddler classes and playgroups for the Eastern Suburbs. Check the organisers' own pages for the latest details before you head out.
