Parramatta and Cumberland have a good spread of learning and STEM options for kids. We have eight events listed, mostly at libraries, plus learning centres, museums and libraries. The events and clubs below list them with links.

STEM and technology

  • ABii Robot Tutoring is listed at two libraries. It is for ages 4 to 11 at Wentworth Point Library and ages 6 to 11 at Parramatta Library.
  • Introduction to 3D Printing at Parramatta Library.
  • VR Experience Drop In at Parramatta Library.

We don't have times, costs or age ranges for the 3D printing and VR sessions, so check with the library before you go.

Reading, craft and early learning

  • Crafty Kids Club at Dundas Library.
  • Diwali Story Time at Parramatta Library.
  • School Readiness Program at Auburn, which looks aimed at children getting ready for school. Check the age range with the organiser.
  • Responding to Your Child's Emotions at Epping Library. The title suggests it is for parents and carers, so check who it is for.

Learning centres and museums

  • Brainbeans in Merrylands and Tutor Buddies in Auburn.
  • Language Academy and Langs n Slangs in Parramatta.
  • Lachlan's Old Government House and the Uniting Burnside Museum in Parramatta, which are heritage places to visit.
  • Granville Library and the Cumberland Council Library Service.

We don't have class lists, ages or fees for the learning centres, so contact them directly. Check opening times for the museums before you travel.

How to plan

  • Libraries are a simple place to start, and they run different programs in different suburbs, so look at the one closest to you.
  • Check age ranges for robot tutoring and workshops. Some sessions are for school-age children only.
  • Ask the organiser whether you need to book, and whether a parent has to stay.
  • Try one thing first. A single session shows you whether the topic sparks your child's interest.
  • For language and tutoring centres, ask about a trial or an assessment.

Keep checking back

Library programs change often, so use each organiser's own page for the latest details. We're still adding learning options across Parramatta and Cumberland, so look at the listings below again soon.
