Fairfield families have a few free options to reach for when the kids start saying they are bored. Here is what Roolu has found so far, and what to check before you head out.
A festive day in the centre
Christmas in Fairfield City Centre is the listed event. Check the organiser for what is on, the times and where to park. Festive events like this are easy to dip into, so you can stay for an hour or make a day of it. If you plan to eat out or buy anything, set a budget before you go.
Books and a quiet hour
Fairfield Library is listed in Fairfield, and libraries are a classic wet-weather or hot-day option. Ask your branch about kids' sessions, borrowing and any free programs. A second listing, Fairfield Library and Cafe in Guildford, is also on Roolu. Check the organiser for what is there, since a cafe means some things might cost money.
Council and community
Fairfield City Council is listed on Roolu. The council is the best place to check for free community events, playgrounds and parks in the area. We do not have details about specific facilities, so look at the council's own page or the signs on site.
Local groups with a free try
Roolu also lists local groups such as Fairfield School of Music, Hwarangdo and Goju Ryu Karate Do Seishikan at Fairfield RSL. We do not have prices for these, so ask each one whether it offers a free trial or open day. Do not assume a class is free until the organiser says so.
Planning tips
- Check the organiser's page on the morning you go, as plans can change.
- Pack water, snacks and a hat, and you will not need to buy much.
- Ask about age limits and whether you need to book.
- Public transport and parking can be tight around busy centres, so allow extra time.
We are still adding free options for Fairfield, so check back soon. The events and clubs below link to the latest details, and the organisers' own pages are the final word.
