We have 8 events on our list for Sydney City and the Inner South. They include family tours at Sydney Observatory, a circus opera, Santa photos, two exhibitions and two community festivals. We don't have any markets in this list yet. Events change often, so use this guide to see what kinds of outing are around, then check the organiser's page for what is on now.
Shows and tours
- Sydney Observatory Family Tours, in The Rocks.
- Mrs Giggly's Magic School A Circus Opera by Chloé Charody, in Sydney.
- Photos With Santa at David Jones, in Sydney.
Ask the organiser about ages, ticket prices and whether you need to book, because we don't hold those details.
Exhibitions
- Alchemy of a Rainforest exhibition, in Sydney.
- NAIDOC poster exhibition, in Redfern.
Exhibitions can suit a short visit with children. Look at the organiser's page for opening hours before you set out.
Festivals and community days
- Culture Alive Festivals, in Sydney.
- Erko Berzerko, in Erskineville.
We have the names and suburbs only, so check the organisers' pages for what is on, who it suits and how you get in.
Also on the list is a Melbourne Cup lunch banquet at Barangaroo. We can't tell whether it suits children, so ask the organiser.
Planning the outing
- Check the age range of each event. Some are made for small children and others are for the whole family.
- Allow extra time for travel in the city, especially with a pram.
- Santa photos and shows can get busy. Ask whether you can book a time.
- Bring water and snacks, and think about a quiet break afterwards.
- Look for toilets and a place to feed or change a baby, and ask the organiser if you are not sure.
More on the way
We're still adding events and markets across the inner city. The events and clubs below are what we have today. For the latest details, check each organiser's own page.
