Events and markets for kids on the Lower North Shore are a short list on Roolu right now: three listings, in Lane Cove, Neutral Bay and North Sydney. They are a plaza event and two fairs. Here is what we know, and what to ask before you go.
The three listed
- First Fridays in the Plaza, in Lane Cove. The name points to a regular event in a plaza. Check the organiser for how often it runs and what is on.
- Gumnut Fair, in Neutral Bay.
- Twilight Food Fair, in North Sydney. The name suggests an evening outing, so check the hours.
We have not been given times, costs or the activities on offer for any of them. Please open the listings and check with the organisers.
Which one for your family
A plaza event is usually an easy drop-in, so it could suit a small child who gets restless. A fair can be busier, and a food fair may be more about browsing and eating, but we don't know what each offers for children. Ask the organiser whether there is anything made for kids, and what ages it suits.
Planning a visit
- Check how you will get there. Public transport and parking can be tricky when a crowd is coming, so confirm access.
- Go with a plan for a short stay. You can always stay longer if the kids are having fun.
- Pack water, sun protection and a snack, and bring a way to carry what you pick up.
- Check the organiser's page the day before, in case something changes with the weather.
Still adding
We're still adding events and markets for the Lower North Shore, which stretches from Greenwich and Lane Cove across to Chatswood and Willoughby. This is a short list because that is what we can verify today, and we would rather say so than pad it.
If you run an event, you can claim a listing on Roolu. Until the list grows, the organisers' own pages have the latest details.
