We have 7 places for kids' arts and crafts in Canterbury-Bankstown on our list, in Bankstown, Riverwood, Undercliffe, Hurlstone Park and Ashbury. We have no one-off arts events or classes listed for the area right now, so this guide is about places you can contact to ask about classes for children.
The seven places
- Creative Art School (Bankstown)
- Bankstown Arts Centre (Bankstown)
- Little Canvas (Riverwood)
- Lunastudio (Undercliffe)
- 16albermarle Project Space (Undercliffe)
- PidegoArt (Hurlstone Park)
- Globa / art (Ashbury)
Two are in Bankstown and two in Undercliffe, so if you live near either you can compare them.
What we know and what we don't
We know the names and suburbs. We don't hold ages, class types, prices or session times, and we won't guess. Some of these may be studios that run regular classes for children, and others may be arts centres or project spaces that run exhibitions or occasional workshops. A phone call or message will sort that out quickly.
Questions to ask
- Do you run classes for children, and which ages?
- Is it drawing, painting, clay or something else?
- Are materials included?
- Can my child try one session before I pay for a term?
- Are classes held after school, on weekends or during the day?
Planning around your week
- Pick the place closest to home or school first. A short trip makes a weekly class much easier to keep up.
- Bankstown has two options, so it is a handy place to compare if you are nearby.
- Art can be messy. Old clothes or an apron are a good idea.
- If your child is shy, ask whether a parent can stay for the first session.
- Ask whether finished work comes home each week or at the end of a term.
