We are still building the toddler list for Blacktown and the North-West. None of the listings we have say they are made for children aged 0 to 3, so this guide is honest about that and helps you ask the right questions.
What we have listed
The events listed in the area are:
- Library sessions listed under Seven Hills, including a drone discovery session, robot tutoring and henna on hands.
- Two bushcare meet ups, one at Snowy Reserve in Seven Hills and one at Nurragingy Reserve in Doonside.
- A youth legal workshop in Blacktown.
No age ranges for under-threes are given for any of them. The robot tutoring and the youth workshop do not look aimed at toddlers. The bushcare meet ups happen outdoors, so ask the organiser whether very young children can come along and join in safely.
Questions to ask the organiser
- Is this suitable for a child aged 0 to 3?
- Does a parent or carer stay and take part?
- Is there room for a pram, and is the ground flat?
- How long does it run? Shorter is better for toddlers.
- Are there toilets and a place to change a nappy?
- Is it free, and do I need to book?
Planning a day with a toddler
- Keep it short. One activity and a rest is plenty.
- Think about nap times and plan around them.
- Bring snacks, water, a change of clothes and a hat.
- Have a plan B. Toddlers can change their mind, so be ready to head home.
The area includes Blacktown, Prospect, Seven Hills, Doonside, Rooty Hill, Plumpton, Quakers Hill, Schofields, Riverstone and Eastern Creek. We have no toddler-specific clubs listed here yet, and we're still adding them.
