The Hills has a good number of swim schools and pools listed for kids, mostly around Kellyville, Baulkham Hills and Castle Hill. We have no swimming events listed at the moment, so this guide covers the schools and pools. Ask each one about ages, levels and how to book.
Swim schools
- Carlile Swim Norwest (Kellyville)
- Hills Swimming (Kellyville)
- Coulter Swimming Northmead (Baulkham Hills)
- North Parramatta Swim School (Baulkham Hills)
- C2K Swimming (Castle Hill)
We don't have prices, age ranges or timetables for these, so check each school's own page. Schools in the same suburb can run quite differently, so it helps to compare two or three.
Pools
- Senior Pool (Baulkham Hills)
- Prep Pool (Baulkham Hills)
- Oakhill College Pool (Castle Hill)
The Baulkham Hills pools are listed by name only, so we can't say who they suit. Oakhill College Pool is a school pool, so ask whether and when it is open to families outside the school.
What to ask before you book
- What age can my child start, and how do you place them in a level?
- How long is each lesson, and how big are the classes?
- Can we try a lesson or watch a session first?
- How does booking work, and what happens if we miss a week?
- What does my child need to bring?
Choosing by location
Kellyville has two of the schools, Baulkham Hills has two schools and two pools, and Castle Hill has a school and a school pool. We don't have anything listed for Rouse Hill yet, and we're still adding. If you live there, check the trip to Kellyville at the time of day lessons would run.
Making it stick
Lessons that fit around school and work are the ones kids keep going to. Choose a place that is a short drive from home, and ask whether siblings at different levels can swim at the same time.
The schools and pools below link to what we know so far. For current details, use the organisers' own pages or contact them directly.
