Rockdale has a broad mix for the school holidays: martial arts, ballet and dance, guitar, football, the local library and several community events. The Summer school holidays run from 18 Dec 2026 to 27 Jan 2027 (starting in 6 weeks). These are the NSW public-school dates. Catholic and independent schools can differ, so check your own school's calendar.
Listings stretch from Rockdale to Tempe, Sydenham, Earlwood, Undercliffe and St George. We're still adding holiday programs near Rockdale, so this is a starting list.
Events
Four events are listed in the events and clubs below. Decathlon Tempe has a Kids Sports Party in Tempe. STEM and Stories is for ages 5 to 10 and is held in St George, and there is a Community Christmas Concert in St George. Magic of Christmas is at Carss Park. The organisers set dates and times, so check their pages, as some events may fall outside the break.
Classes
Three classes are listed. Aiki Kids Club is in Undercliffe. Beginners Taekwondo is in St George. Little Kickers is for ages 5 to 8 and is in Sydenham. Ask each organiser whether a trial session is possible and what runs during the holidays.
Clubs and studios in Rockdale
Eight clubs and studios are listed:
- Martial arts: Fit Dojo Karate Taekwondo, Kyokushin Karate St. George and Tam Taekwon-Do Mudokwan.
- Dance: Miss Fisher's Ballet Academy and Petite B dance studio.
- Music: G4 Guitar Schools.
- Rockdale Library.
- Stadium Rockdale, listed in Earlwood.
The library is a handy low-key choice for a quieter day. Ask each club about ages and booking.
Ideas by age
Little Kickers is for ages 5 to 8, so it is one clear match for early primary school, and STEM and Stories is for ages 5 to 10. Children who like to move can look at the ballet, dance and martial arts studios, which all have Rockdale listings. For a quieter day, Rockdale Library and G4 Guitar Schools are listed. Every club sets its own age rules, so ask before you book. If a child hasn't tried a class before, a single trial session is a sensible start.
