There are no holiday events listed for Leura yet, but there is a good spread of classes, studios and places to visit around the village and up the road in Katoomba and Wentworth Falls. The Summer school holidays run from 18 Dec 2026 to 27 Jan 2027 (starting in 6 weeks). These are the NSW public-school dates. Catholic and independent schools can differ, so check your own school's calendar.

In Leura
Four listings sit in Leura itself. BalletColourful and Vocalocity are both listed, and so is the Toy and Railway Museum of NSW. Katoomba Rifle Club also has a Leura listing, so check its age rules with the club before you plan anything. The listings don't give opening hours, prices or ages, so contact each one before you go. A museum is a handy option for a day when you want a set place to visit.
Katoomba
Ballet Art Katoomba and Lost Bear Gallery are both in Katoomba. If your child likes dance, there are two ballet options between Leura and Katoomba to compare. The gallery is a different kind of outing, and it is worth asking whether anything is set up for children.
Wentworth Falls
The listings here include Tiny Tots, a class, and Fairmont Adventure Park. Datong Blue Mountains Chinese School is also listed. The park is the one most likely to suit an active day out. Ask about age limits, booking and what to wear before you set off. The listing for Tiny Tots doesn't give an age range, so ask the organiser who it suits.
Ideas by interest
If your child likes dance, start with the two ballet listings. If they would rather look and explore, the museum and gallery are the quieter picks. For a more active day, the adventure park in Wentworth Falls is the one to look at. Some of these are regular classes, so they may not suit a drop-in visit. Ask whether a casual or one-off session is possible. If you can only manage one outing, pick the place closest to home and keep the rest as a later idea.
