We're still adding school holiday programs near Fairfield, so this guide is short for now. At the moment we have one event and two council and library listings in the wider area. The Summer school holidays run from 18 Dec 2026 to 27 Jan 2027 (starting in 7 weeks). These are NSW public-school dates, and Catholic and independent schools can differ, so check your own school's calendar.

What we have so far

The one event is Water Safety Storytime at Guildford Library, which pairs a story with a water safety message. We don't have an age range or session times, so check with the library before you go.

Two more listings are worth a look. Cumberland City Council's What's On page is listed in Merrylands, and it includes the council's libraries. Liverpool City Library is listed in Liverpool. Both sit a drive away from Fairfield for many families, so look at the map and the travel time before you plan.

Where to look for more

Councils and libraries often publish their own holiday programs, and these change from one break to the next. Good places to check:

  • the Cumberland City Council What's On page
  • Liverpool City Library's own website
  • the noticeboard or newsletter at your local library branch
  • your child's school newsletter, which often passes on local offers

If you find something that is not in our listings, the organiser can ask to have it added.

Questions to ask the organiser

Before you book or travel, it helps to ask:

  • What ages is it for?
  • Is it free or paid, and do I need to book?
  • Can I stay, or is it drop-off?
  • What should my child bring?
  • Is there a quieter time to arrive?

We don't have these details for the places above, so please don't assume them.

Planning the days

When options are limited, a simple routine can stretch a long break. Pick one outing a week, such as a library session, and fill the other days with free things close to home, like a playground, a picnic or time with friends.

If you have more than one child, check that the age ranges suit each of them. A storytime may suit a younger child well but feel short for an older one.

Check back before the break starts, because we add new events and clubs as organisers share them. For the latest details, use the events and clubs below and head to the organisers' own pages.

Built from Roolu's local listings. Dates, prices and ages can change, so check with each organiser before you go.
