For school holiday activities in Doonside, we have a bushcare meet up in the suburb, two library listings, and pools, an arts centre and more in nearby Blacktown and Quakers Hill. The Summer school holidays run from 18 Dec 2026 to 27 Jan 2027 (starting in 7 weeks). Those are NSW public-school dates, and Catholic and independent schools can differ, so check your own school's calendar.
We are still adding holiday programs near Doonside, so this is a starting point rather than a full list. Always confirm with the organiser.
In Doonside
The Bushcare meet up at Nurragingy Reserve is listed in Doonside. Check with the organiser whether children can join and whether a parent needs to stay.
Two library listings are also in Doonside, one named School Library and one named Library Building. They may not be open to the public all week, so check opening hours and who can use them before you go.
In Quakers Hill and Rooty Hill
Quakers Hill has Blacktown Leisure Centre Stanhope, Dennis Johnson Library and a place called Trek. We do not know what Trek offers, so contact them for details. Rooty Hill has the Blacktown City Council events and activities listing, which includes libraries. It is a useful place to check for programs for children.
In Blacktown
Blacktown Arts Centre and Blacktown Aquatic Centre are both listed. The pool suits a warm day, and the arts centre suits a creative one. A youth legal workshop run by UNSW, The Criminal Process, is also listed in Blacktown. The title suggests it is aimed at young people, so check the age range. The events below show the latest on each one, and some may fall outside the break.
Planning the days
- Choose one main activity a day and keep the rest flexible.
- Check ages and costs with the organiser, as we do not list them.
- Ask whether you need to book ahead.
- Allow travel time between Doonside, Quakers Hill and Blacktown.
For the latest details, check each organiser's own page, and come back as we add more holiday programs near Doonside.
