Martial arts classes and clubs make up much of what is listed near Dharruk, along with netball, other sport and a couple of community events. The Summer school holidays run from 18 Dec 2026 to 27 Jan 2027 (starting in 6 weeks). These are the NSW public-school dates. Catholic and independent schools can differ, so check your own school's calendar.
The listings are in Mount Druitt, Oxley Park, Plumpton, Doonside and St Marys. We're still adding holiday programs near Dharruk, so use this as a starting list.
Events
Two events are listed in the events and clubs below. One is a bushcare meet up at Nurragingy Reserve in Doonside. The other is Santa's Arrival Parade at Westfield Mt Druitt. The organisers set the dates and times, so check their pages before heading out.
Classes
Six classes are listed. In Mount Druitt there is Little Tigers and a kids karate, self defence and jiu jitsu program. In St Marys there are four more: Primary Aged Classes (later timeslot), Little Dragon Champions, Champion Kids and Mat Ninjas. The names don't tell us ages, times or prices, so ask each organiser about the age group and whether a trial is available. Also ask whether classes run during the holidays.
Clubs and centres
Eight clubs and centres are listed:
- Netball: Mount Druitt Netball Association.
- Martial arts: Pollet's Karate Academy and Nihon Bugeikan Martial Arts.
- Local clubs and centres: Emerton Pools, Charlie Lowles Leisure Centre, Western City Rangers, Minchinbury Jets JRLC and Timezone Mt Druitt.
Check each club's age rules and ask what runs during the break, because regular programs may follow the school term.
Making a day of it
Mount Druitt has the most listings, including two martial arts classes, Santa's Arrival Parade and several clubs, so it is the easiest base for a day out. St Marys has four more classes. If you are choosing between several, ask about trial sessions, age groups and costs before you commit. For a calmer day, pick one class and leave the afternoon free. Younger children often tire quickly, so keep the plan short.
Planning the day
Choose one activity and leave room for rest. Check travel time from Dharruk, as the listings sit in several suburbs. Confirm a spot with the organiser for any class. For the latest details, go to the organisers' own pages.
