Looking for school holiday activities in Abbotsford? We have a good mix listed around the suburb: water sport clubs, swimming, martial arts, dance and a few library sessions for younger children. The Summer school holidays run from 18 Dec 2026 to 27 Jan 2027 (starting in 6 weeks). These are the NSW public-school dates. Catholic and independent schools can differ, so check your own school's calendar.

On the water

Abbotsford sits on the river, and the listings show it.

  • Abbotsford Rowing Club in Abbotsford.
  • Abbotsford 12ft Sailing Club and Parramatta River Sailing Club, both in Henley.
  • Cabarita Swimming Centre in Cabarita and Chiswick Baths in Chiswick.

Ask each club whether it runs in the holidays, what ages it takes and whether a new child can try a session. We don't have that detail, so it's best to confirm with the organiser.

Classes, dance and skating

  • Kid Karate Classes in Rodd Point, KKC Karate in Wareemba, and the Little Tigers, Mini Tigers and Mini Tigresses classes in Canada Bay and Leichhardt.
  • Pointe Petite Dance Academy in Abbotsford.
  • Sewing classes in Rozelle on Tuesday and Thursday, and a junior band class in Leichhardt.
  • Gladesville Skatepark at Huntleys Cove, for kids who want to ride.

For little ones

A handful of events are aimed at younger children, including Storytime in Hunters Hill, Toddler Time in Burwood and Toddlertime at The Learning Space in Rhodes. Reading Rocks! and Burwood Brick Builders in Burwood are listed too. Some of these could follow the school term, so check that they run during the break before you travel.

Ages are not listed for most of the classes and clubs, so we can't say which suit your child. The toddler and storytime sessions are clearly for younger children. For the rest, ask the organiser which age group they take.

Planning the day

Many listings are in neighbouring suburbs, such as Henley, Burwood and Leichhardt, so look at the travel time first. A simple plan is one booked activity a day with something relaxed on either side. Regular classes don't always run through the break, so ask before you go. Pack for the weather, since the rowing and sailing clubs are on the water, and check the club's page on the day if the forecast looks poor.

Use the events and clubs below to find each organiser, then check their own page for the latest times, prices and booking details.

Built from Roolu's local listings. Dates, prices and ages can change, so check with each organiser before you go.
