Penrith and the Nepean have plenty of places for kids to play, from local playgrounds to a splash pad and indoor play venues. We hold ten play listings for the area. We don't have any playgroups, classes or events listed yet, so this guide covers the places you can go.

Playgrounds and open spaces

These are the outdoor listings we hold:

  • Splash Pad in Penrith
  • Thornton Playground in Penrith
  • Quadrangle in Penrith
  • Regatta Park Playspace in Emu Plains
  • Blaxland Oval Playground in Leonay
  • Mulgoa Rise Playground North and Mulgoa Rise Playground South in Glenmore Park

Playgrounds are a simple option for a free outing, but we don't have details on equipment, shade or fencing at each one. If you have a toddler who runs off, have a look at the playground before you settle in. For the splash pad, check whether it is running, as water play areas can close for maintenance or in cooler weather.

Play venues

Three other listings are play venues: Go Banana's in Werrington, Lollipops Playland in Jamisontown and Monkey Mania Penrith in Penrith. We don't hold details on their ages, prices or opening times, so contact them before you go. Ask about the age range, whether adults need to stay, whether there is a booking system and what the rules are on socks and food.

Choosing by age

We don't hold age ranges for these places, so use your own judgment and check with the venue.

  • Babies and toddlers: look for a space where little ones can move safely away from bigger kids. Ask the play venues about quiet times.
  • Preschoolers: a playground or splash pad plus a snack makes an easy morning.
  • Primary-age kids: larger playgrounds and the play venues may hold their attention longer.

Playgroups

We haven't listed any playgroups for Penrith and the Nepean yet, and we're still adding them. If you want one, your local library or council is a good place to ask what is running nearby.

Planning the outing

  • Check opening times, any entry rules and prices with the venue.
  • Pack water, snacks, a hat and sunscreen for outdoor play.
  • Pick a spot close to home for a short outing, and go further for a longer day.
  • Keep a backup, such as a second playground, in case it is busy.

The suburbs covered include Penrith, Emu Plains, Jamisontown, Werrington, Leonay and Glenmore Park. For the latest details, go to each venue's own page or contact them directly.

Built from Roolu's local listings. Dates, prices and ages can change, so check with each organiser before you go.
