If your child wants to learn music in Penrith and the Nepean, you have seven local schools and teachers to look at. Most are in Penrith itself, with one in Kingswood. This guide helps you choose between them and shows what to ask before you book.
Who is listed
We hold seven music listings for the area right now. There are no music events or one-off classes listed at the moment, so everything here is an ongoing school or teacher.
- Harmony Music School in Kingswood
- Penrith School of Guitar in Penrith
- G4 Guitar School in Penrith
- Stormer Music Penrith in Penrith
- KJ Studios in Penrith
- Nepean District Music Academy in Penrith
- Alina W Music Penrith in Penrith
By their names, two of these focus on guitar. We don't have details on which instruments, ages or styles the others teach, so check each one directly.
Choosing a place
A good fit matters more than a long list. A few things help you decide:
- Instrument: some schools teach one instrument, others teach several. Ask what your child wants to play and whether you can try it first.
- Age: many schools take beginners of different ages. We don't have age ranges for these listings, so ask the school what suits your child.
- One-to-one or group: this changes how your child learns and what it costs. Ask what is on offer.
- Instruments at home: ask whether you need to buy or hire an instrument before the first lesson.
Getting around
Most of the listings are in Penrith, so if you live in a nearby suburb such as Emu Plains, Jamisontown, South Penrith, Kingswood or Cambridge Park, you are likely not far from one. If you are in Glenmore Park, Cranebrook, Werrington or further out, check the drive and the lesson time against the school run. Harmony Music School is in Kingswood, which may suit families on that side of the area.
Questions to ask before you book
- What are the lesson length, times and days?
- Is there a trial lesson or a first-term commitment?
- What does your child need to bring?
- How does the teacher keep parents updated on progress?
- What happens if your child misses a lesson?
We don't list prices, so ask each school for current fees. Fees and availability change, so confirm before you commit.
