If you want classes, STEM and learning activities for kids on the Lower North Shore, we have ten places listed, from Lane Cove, Mosman and North Sydney to Chatswood and Crows Nest. No learning events or single classes are listed right now, so this guide points you to the places to ask.

What is listed and where

  • Libraries: Lane Cove Library, Mosman Library (Spit Junction), Stanton Library (North Sydney), Willoughby City Library (Chatswood), Artarmon Library and Greenwich Library
  • Historic houses: May Gibbs' Nutcote (Kurraba Point) and Carisbrook Historic House (Linley Point)
  • Other: Bricks 4 Kidz (Crows Nest Junction) and Hutong School (Chatswood)

The clubs below this guide link to each one. We have not been given program times, prices or age ranges, so please check these with each place.

Libraries

Six libraries are listed, which makes them the easiest place to begin. Many libraries run children's sessions as well as lending books, so ask the one nearest you what is on for your child's age and whether you need to book. A library is also a quiet place to spend an afternoon, though you should check what each one offers.

Houses and other options

May Gibbs' Nutcote in Kurraba Point and Carisbrook Historic House in Linley Point may suit children who like stories and history. Check each house for opening arrangements and any children's programs before you go. Bricks 4 Kidz in Crows Nest Junction and Hutong School in Chatswood are also listed under learning. We have no further detail on either, so contact them to find out which ages they take and what they offer for children.

Questions to ask before you book

  • What ages is the session for?
  • Do I need to book, and is there a cost?
  • Can a parent stay?
  • What does my child need to bring?

Planning the week

Chatswood has two listings and Crows Nest Junction has one, while the libraries are spread across the area. Pick the one on your usual route. We are still adding classes and STEM programs for the Lower North Shore. For the latest, use each place's own page or phone number.

Built from Roolu's local listings. Dates, prices and ages can change, so check with each organiser before you go.
