There are ten dance studios and groups listed for the Hawkesbury, across Windsor, Richmond and Londonderry. That gives families a choice close to home, whichever of the three suburbs they live in. We have no one-off dance events or short courses listed right now, so this guide is about regular studios and clubs.

What is listed

Richmond has the largest group, with six dance and performing arts names. Windsor has three and Londonderry has one. Some names point to a style. Others are broader, such as Creative Dance Academy in Windsor, UNITED Performing Arts in Richmond and Fusion Dance Australia in Richmond, so it is worth asking what they teach.

Styles you can pick out from the names

  • Ballet and musical theatre: Greater Western Sydney Academy of Classical Ballet & Musical Theatre in Richmond, and The Yonteen Dancer's in Richmond, which lists dance and ballet classes.
  • Cheer: Bradshaw Dance and Cheer in Windsor.
  • Dance fitness: Hawkesbury DanceFit WithKala in Londonderry. Ask whether the sessions suit children and which ages they take.
  • General dance and performance: the other studios, such as Dance Lab Company and Jungle Studio in Richmond and Xtreme Talent Co. in Windsor.

We have only the names and suburbs, so treat the names above as a starting point, not a promise of what each studio teaches.

Questions to ask a studio

  • Which ages and levels does each class take?
  • Is there a trial class before I sign up for a term?
  • What do fees, uniforms and any concert or competition costs add up to?
  • Which days and times are classes held, and are there spaces left?
  • Can a parent stay and watch?

Prices, times and age ranges are not in our listings, so the studio is the one to ask.

Choosing for your child

Watch a class if the studio allows it, and pick a day and time you can keep up with after school or on weekends. Younger children often settle in more easily with a short, relaxed class first. Older children may want to try a few styles before they choose. Compare the studios in your own suburb first, then look further afield if you want a different style.

Check each studio's own page for the latest timetable and enrolment details.
