Families in Mount Riverview can look down the mountain to Emu Plains and Penrith, and across to Blaxland, for a good mix of shows, fishing, art, dance and martial arts. The Summer school holidays run from 18 Dec 2026 to 27 Jan 2027 (starting in 6 weeks). Those are New South Wales public-school dates, and Catholic and independent schools can differ, so check your own school's calendar.
Shows and a day by the water
Two events are listed. Alice in Wonderland: The Musical is in Emu Plains, and Community Fishing is in Penrith. Ask each organiser about ages, booking and what to bring. For the fishing event in particular, check what gear and safety rules apply before you go.
For the youngest
An early childhood art class is listed for Mondays in Emu Plains. It is the one class on the list, so if you have a preschooler it is worth a call to ask about ages and whether it runs during the break.
Clubs along the Blaxland stretch
Blaxland has the most listed. There is GKR Karate, Dance On Pointe, Blue Mountains Taekwondo, Western Sydney Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Fanci Footwork Dance and Cheer, and Lower Mountains Eagles JRLC. Blue Mountains Tae Kwon Do is listed in Leonay, and Hart Field is listed in Emu Plains. Roolu does not hold session times or ages for these, so contact each one, especially about holiday opening.
Planning the days
- Choose one regular class as the anchor, then add an outing.
- Group trips by area, as the listings spread across Emu Plains, Penrith, Blaxland and Leonay.
- Check booking rules and holiday hours with each organiser.
- Pack water, hats and snacks for outdoor days.
We are still adding holiday programs near Mount Riverview, and the list will grow. The events and clubs below show what Roolu has right now, and the organisers' own pages are the best place for the latest details.
